LAW AND SOCIETY 2nd (1/2credit) This class deals with basic civil and criminal law. Legal areas to be covered are Criminal Law, Civil Law, Consumer Law, Family Law and Individual Rights Law as it relates to the U.S. Constitution. U.S.GOVERNMENT 2nd(1/2credit) The major goal of this class is to create student awareness as to the functions of the various governmental units and to engender interest in the democratic process and the ultimate goals of a free society. This course is required for graduation. SOCIOLOGY This course will give the student an understanding of world cultures; an opportunity to discuss and attempt to understand bias and prejudice; and an opportunity to gain knowledge of social problems on the local, state, and national level. It is a study of people and society—their behavior, emotions, and personalities. It is designed primarily to give students a chance to express their views in candid discussion. Students with a 3.000 or higher G.P.A. will be given preference in scheduling for this class.12 2nd (1/2credit) PSYCHOLOGY This course will give the student a background in the science of human behavior as well as information pertaining to various types of mental illness, mental deficiency, testing methods and background of the founding fathers of psychology. Candid discussions of psychological process and theories will occur. This is a demanding course especially appropriate for the most able students.
