The grading scale at  Beaverton High School will convert from an 11 point scale to percentages for the 2006-2007 school year. 

A     95.5 - 100%

A-    91.5 - 95.4%

B+    87.5 - 91.4%

B    83.5 - 87.4%

B-    79.5 - 83.4%

C+    75.5 - 79.4%

C     71.5 - 75.4%

C-    67.5 - 71.4%

D+    63.5 - 67.4%

D     59.5 - 63.4%

D-    55.5 - 59.4%

E     55 - lower

Grading may seem difficult but is really easy in band and choir.  Students are graded on playing/singing ability, participation in class, written/oral quizzes and tests and performances.   Performances (especially festivals)are required of all students and are a major portion of their grade each marking period.  In class-as well as- out of class participation is vital to the over-all success of our music department. 

I mail a newsletter out to parents/students on a quarterly basis which include requirements and performance schedules for each term.
