It’s almost October which means we are almost half way through the 1^st marking period.  Remember that Edline should be up and running by the first of October.  This program will allow you to keep track of your son/daughter’s academic progress.  Contact the high school for more information.

For seniors this is the time of year to start applying to colleges.  Don’t wait until the spring.  You may lose scholarship opportunities are you wait.  After you fill out the financial aid form (FAFSA) after January 1st you will then be able to compare the financial aid package from each school to determine the best fit for you. 

Juniors take your studies seriously.  This is the year that sets up the college opportunities for you.  You can’t, “make it up your senior year”.  Colleges look at your transcript after your junior year.  Also, it is never too early to start the college search.

Sophomores and freshman need to remember that you are under the new Michigan Merit Curriculum consisting of 16 core courses that are required.  By successfully completing the first two years of this curriculum there will be numerous opportunities available to you during your junior/senior year of high school.   Failing these courses may severely hamper the courses that you can take during your junior/senior year.
